Very Windy Weekend for ALL OF Central Montana
At least a dozen counties have some sort of Wind Advisory or Winter Weather Advisory in effect for this weekend with wind gusts up to 60 MPH in some locations.
From Livingston all the way up to Cut Bank, Montana will continue to get blasted with winter weather this weekend (AND into next week).
Western counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory until Friday night. More counties to the east are under High Wind Watches through the weekend and into next week.
It will be important for folks to prepare for this weather as nasty and dangerous wind chills are certainly possible for the next several days.
The northern portion of Montana hasn't warmed up nearly as quickly as southwest Montana. Wednesday night and Thursday morning will bring very gusty winds, causing dangerous wind chills to several counties.
Research study claims only 14% of heavy industry is aligned with the Paris Agreement 18 February 2021
Research by the Transition Pathway Initiative finds that only 16 of 111 (14 per cent) large publicly-listed industrial companies are aligned with an emissions reduction pathway that would keep global warming at 2°C or below. The combined market cap of the 95 industrial companies failing to align with 2°C or below by 2050 is over US$856bn.
The research analysed 169 companies in total. Of these 111 firms are analysed on carbon performance to show if their emissions reductions plans align with the Paris Agreement. This required benchmarking of companies’ emissions pathways against both the ambitions of and pledges to the 2015 UN Paris Agreement. From a 2030 point of view, 22 per cent of companies aligned with 2°C or below for that shorter time frame including four cement companies.
Another round of very gusty wind are in store for Livingston and areas east, down the I-90 corridor. Travel may be difficult at times and extra caution should be used when driving a high profile vehicle or when towing anything.
